The Weta Digital IT Software Department (ITSD) team is a tight-knit team who provides applications, APIs, BI and data integration solutions to the entire Weta company. We pride ourselves on building positive relationships with our customers and doing everything we can to make their jobs easier. We are now looking for a new Full Stack Developer to join us!

• Manage and oversee low-level disk and data services, as well as high-level Production and Business applications within the ITSD team.
• Utilize Python as the primary language to develop and maintain sophisticated VFX pipeline applications, ensuring seamless integration and efficient operations.
• Create custom software solutions with a focus on implementing comprehensive testing, continuous integration (CI), and effective monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
• Drive system improvement initiatives to enhance scalability and modernize existing infrastructure to meet the demands of the ever-increasing workload.
• Take an active role in supporting and developing a diverse range of full-stack web applications, ensuring their smooth functioning and optimization.

We'd love to hear from you if you've got a desire to learn, fantastic problem solving abilities, outstanding verbal and written communication skills and experience in the following:

• Commercial web application development experience (e.g. Python, Ruby on Rails) CSS, HTML, and Javascript/jQuery experience
• Relational database design experience and SQL query optimisation experience
• Linux system administration experience

• UI or web design experience
• Agile / DevOps experience
• Prior experience in the VFX production, entertainment, media or gaming industries
