Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Create a consistent shared service that supports both Schools’ and Program Development’s success.
- Inspire, train, and develop a highly skilled team of curation strategists, accessibility experts, and procurement analysts to ensure the selection and purchase of the most appropriate learning and assessment resources and experiences (including simulations, multimedia, etc.).
- Develop an LR Strategy that strikes the right balance of published and custom/original content to ensure a variety of engaging learning opportunities for all students.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to support projected Academic Programs’ growth.
- Ensures equitable and accessible learning opportunities and materials (inclusive of courses and assessments) for all students.
- Work collaboratively across the university and within Program Development’s System Strategy organization to ensure technical solutions can be achieved at scale and are approached consistently.
- Accountable for LR Budget, inclusive of Forecast/Outlook.
- Create a plan to set spending expectations with known objectives and outcomes (e.g., cost reduction, student friction).
- Tight monitoring of consumption and billing.
- Monitor and approve invoices/splits per schools in Workday and verification of invoices being coded correctly.
- Engage with Procurement and Vendor Engagement Office teams on SOWs, MSAs and LR replacement efforts.
- Work collaboratively with and keep Academic Product Management & Business Engagement (DACs/MAPMs/PDOs) partners informed of updates to policy, process, and requirements.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and legal processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of current trends and best practices in online higher education.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development
- Knowledge of adult learning theories and principles, including instructional design methodologies tailored to adult learners in diverse academic settings.
- Proven ability to design and assess curriculum effectiveness, learning outcomes, and student engagement strategies, particularly within a Competency-based Education model.
- In-depth knowledge of current best practices in accessibility principles, tools, and current challenges and opportunities.
- Understanding of accreditation standards, compliance and regulatory requirements, and industry best practices related to program development and institutional compliance.
- Excellent leadership and collaboration skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with academic departments, faculty members, subject matter experts, and instructional designers to develop and deliver high-quality educational programs.
- Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to articulate program objectives, outcomes, and value propositions to internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project timelines, and ensure alignment with departmental goals and objectives.
- Experience in staff development, team building, and fostering a culture of innovation.
- Willingness to explore innovative approaches, incorporate emerging technologies, and adapt to evolving trends and student needs in higher education.
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to inform decisions, assess program efficacy, and identify areas for continuous improvement.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- 10 or more years of related experience
- 5 or more years leading a team.
- Experience in developing online education programs and/or developing and scaling rapidly changing organizations/programs.
- Demonstrated success in bringing order and structure to complex situations.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and budgets.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
