Job Description
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Reviews student assessment referrals to evaluate the integrity of original content within students’ submissions by analyzing similarity reports and calibrating with rubrics, processes, procedures and university standards.
- Conducts partial and full investigations to determine if academic integrity policy violations have occurred.
- Assesses the uniqueness of each situation to determines appropriate action and makes recommendations for resolution.
- Coordinates with faculty, students, and administrators to resolve academic integrity violations.
- Applies academic integrity evaluation processes, procedures, and policies to ensure integrity feedback is consistent, personalized, and timely.
- Collaborates with colleagues to ensure consistent, valid, and reliable determinations across multiple raters.
- Reviews evaluation feedback from team members and leaders to ensure integrity methods align with department and team expectations.
- Participates in academic integrity education and training for faculty, staff, and students to ensure they understand academic integrity policies and practices.
- Proctors student assessments, which includes scheduling, launching, and monitoring students’ behavior during assessments.
- Validates the integrity of exams by analyzing proctored videos and evaluates student adherence to academic integrity policies, including suspicious behavior and failure to comply.
- Maintains confidential case records and proper documentation of investigations and resolutions.
- Collaborates with the Student Conduct Office in the adjudication process, as needed.
- May utilize technological platforms and systems to identify and analyze compromised university content disclosed on the internet and participate in its removal.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
- Familiarity with academic integrity policies, plagiarism, research misconduct, and ethical standards in higher education.
- Familiarity with plagiarism detection software, learning management systems (LMS), and online proctoring tools.
- Commitment to handling sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively with faculty, administrators, legal teams, and students to promote a culture of integrity.
- Ability to analyze cases, review evidence, and determine appropriate actions while ensuring fairness.
- Able to assess cases and make fair, well-reasoned decisions within university guidelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to deliver instructional and educational trainings.
- Ability to address evolving challenges, such as AI-assisted plagiarism and new forms of academic misconduct.
Job Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field of study
- Two (2) years of experience in academic administration, student conduct, higher education policies and academic integrity practices, or a related field.
- Ability to work student friendly schedule to include evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior work experience conducting investigations, resolving academic misconduct cases, and developing institutional policies
- Prior work experience with competency-based education in an online environment
