The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Pay Range: $80,300.00 - $120,400.00

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supports month-end closing duties to include variance analysis, account reconciliations, journal entries, and results reporting. Understands and adheres to internal controls.
  • Tracks and investigates financial trends and events.
  • Supports actual and forecast analysis and reporting, including spending, headcount, etc.
  • Performs ad hoc research and analysis as needed.
  • Assists with the preparation and submission of industry reports.
  • Supports expense allocations (departments, colleges, programs, courses, etc.).
  • Supports the design, implementation, and maintenance of financial analysis, reporting, and inquiry tools.
  • Completes financial analysis and reports for management as requested.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Understanding of Excel and other financial reporting applications.
  • Awareness of best financial analysis practices, tools, and techniques.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility, ability to work with ambiguity
  • Intellectual curiosity

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field

Experience

  • Proficiency in Excel and common financial software tools

Experience in lieu of education

Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements. Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is the discretion of the hiring manager.

Position & Application Details
